We currently seek a Part-Time Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to help our residents experience independence and dignity within a loving community atmosphere. Work in a fun and professional environment with other Healthcare professionals who provide optimum patient care to residents. 

Duties:

  • Assist in implementing Therapeutic Recreation programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs of long term and short term care residents
  • Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times
  • Help with the maintenance of accurate documentation of resident’s activity attendance
  • Perform assigned duties with enthusiasm and patience
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation

Hours:

  • 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • Schedule:
    • Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
    • Week 2: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma required with post secondary education and/or job experience related to geriatrics preferred  
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
  • Ability to work with senior adults and their families in nonjudgmental, patient, and professional manner
  • Must work well with others as a team and carry out individual responsibilities
  • Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills
  • A passion for working with geriatric population
